By mixing mineral pigments with a binder, in this case clay or milk, a vibrant paint is achieved. Photo taken from a paint class, its important to have hands on experience mixing paints so you more feel comfortable in this new skill.

One of my most favorite natural paints involve eggs and mineral pigments. Egg Tempera paints have been around since the Renaissance and have been the medium for many well known works of art.

This particular class was taught at Wine & Design in Greenville SC. Egg Tempera was the medium.
Students explore the many different natural paints during a paint class. Paints have included using ingredients like clay, eggs, milk, beer, lime, and more.
Beer acts as a binder for this natural paint.
